Whilst new compositional and production ventures are always in the mix, below are some examples of past work;
Working with singer-songwriter, Bethany Hyde, this track tells of the lament of a man who is down on his luck. Originally a vocal and guitar track, the musical potential of this song caught Arthur's ear and he quickly took to laying down some bass guitar, drums, piano and organ. Something wasn't quite right and with the added percussion and backing vocals, it hit the sweet spot to further emphasise this man's struggle in life and his determination not to give up.
Romeo and Juliet is one of Arthur's biggest completed compositional achievements to date. Consisting of solo piano or piano with soloists and choirs, Arthur combined the limericks and poetry of Shakespeare with his artistic interpretation, adding music to tell the story of a pair of doomed lovers who take their own lives. For never was there a story of more woe, than this of Juliet and her Romeo.
The Wind In The Willows was one of Arthur's first compositional creations. Working with a group of other musicians who recorded and played the music on piano, accordion, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, drums and guitar, the folky, bluesy style was perfectly suited to the world Kenneth Grahame brought to life so well.
Commisioned to write a full score with vocal and instrumental pieces for a theatre production of the dark tale, Sweeney Todd. An intense task, many weeks have been spent on the score. Looking for dark, atmospheric, slightly gothic themes.
Compositional Extras
Arthur has written callaboratively with various well known artists including Billy Bragg, Snake Davis and Richard Meyrick. He has also been asked to compose for weddings, funerals, birthdays and anniversaries. All with well met success. Arthur is always working on extra score that often go on to serve as inspiration for commissioned work. As is the way with composition, you never know when an idea will come.
A large number of people (ranging independent film makers to singer-songwriters to other composers) from all over the UK have asked for single tracks or album work, additional compositional extras and even full film scores. Another large project producing great results.
